At UNION, we work alongside entrepreneurs to apply deep technologies to real-world problems, leading to intelligent homes, smarter cities, and healthier lives. Founded by serial entrepreneurs, angel investors and August Home alums Nate Williams and Chris Kim, Union brings both technical depth and go-to-market expertise to help de-risk the critical path to product/market fit. We both back and build companies, either through venture capital investment or a structured EIR program with corporate connections. We focus on the enabling technologies of IoT, AI, Robotics and Automation. We find opportunities at the commercial application of technology to vertical industries in the physical world. We target $500K-$1M of initial invested capital at the seed or pre-seed stage. We look for complementary teams with diverse skill sets (i.e., the proper hacker/hustler balance), unique technical insights, and grit. We will lead more than 50% of deals and approach every deal as a lead....We can invest pre-product or pre-revenue, but look for a process to test product / market fit.
